Senior Adventure Learning Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Activities Counselor to oversee and facilitate engaging programs for children. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling, program development, administrative tasks, and direct engagement with participants. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment. The Senior Activities Counselor will also serve as a mentor, teaching children how to interact positively in the community while ensuring safety and adherence to program rules.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, and implement engaging activities and programs that cater to the interests and developmental needs of participants.
  • Create and maintain monthly activity schedules, ensuring a balance of educational, recreational, and social experiences.
  • Actively engage in activities with participants, setting a positive example and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
  • Enforce rules and standards of behavior, fostering a safe and respectful environment.
  • Teach and model appropriate behavior, communication, and social skills to help children navigate various community settings.
  • Monitor student participation and behavior, addressing concerns in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Assist in administrative duties such as attendance tracking and progress reporting.
  • Assist in developing and managing a monthly/yearly budget for activities.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of supplies, ensuring materials are available and in good condition for scheduled activities.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to continuously improve and enhance program offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and organizational policies.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in youth programs, recreation, education, or a similar field.
  • Ability to develop and implement creative and structured activity plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in scheduling and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Background check required prior to employment.
