Administrative Assistant – Logan High School

Logan City School District is now accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant – Logan High School. This position provides complex, confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Principal and plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of school support functions and site activities.
Position Details- Hours: 8.0 hours per day
- Contract: 220 days
- Compensation: $24.77 per hour
- Start Date: Upcoming school year
- Benefits: Insurance, retirement, leave, and other benefits as outlined in the Education Support Professional Negotiated Agreement
The Administrative Assistant supports the Principal by coordinating projects, managing office operations, maintaining records, and serving as a key point of contact for staff, students, parents, and the public. This role requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced school environment.
Essential Responsibilities Administrative & Operational Support- Provide complex and confidential administrative support to the Principal
- Prepare reports, correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, and other documents (confidential and non‑confidential)
- Compile data from various sources (student information, budgets, calendars, internet research, etc.) to support decision‑making
- Represent the Principal in their absence to gather and convey essential information
- Oversee daily office operations and organize assignments to ensure timely completion
- Maintain manual and electronic records (budgets, financial records, employee records, reports) in compliance with administrative guidelines and legal requirements
- Monitor account balances and reconcile assigned budget categories
- Procure supplies and maintain inventory
- Coordinate meetings, in‑service events, travel arrangements, and program components
- Schedule appointments, facility usage, and travel accommodations
- Process timesheets, work orders, requisitions, reimbursements, and budget transfers
- Respond to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and public agencies
- Present information on administrative procedures and policies
- Support students referred for illness or disciplinary matters to ensure welfare and maintain a secure office environment
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and trainings as needed
- Research current practices, policies, and education codes
- Monitor program components and regulatory compliance
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with district guidelines and legal requirements
Additional duties may be assigned to support the effective functioning of the school.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
- Job‑related experience preferred
