Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.
What You’ll LearnAs a Guest Advocate, you will gain skills such as:
- Communicating and interacting with guests to create a welcoming experience
- Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact guest experience and resolve concerns
- Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
- Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings, and services
- Demonstrate a service culture by delivering the service standard and creating a welcoming experience
- Greet guests as you complete daily tasks and assist with their needs
- Provide assistance to guests, help solve specific needs, and inform them of current promos, store activities, and events
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve the guest experience
- Explain and promote Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up as needed
- Scan and bag items efficiently and accurately, in compliance with safety standards
- Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
- Explain features of the Target App (including Wallet) and assist with enrollment and use
- Understand Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering; direct guests to enroll, activate, and use these features
- Process returns following store policies, escalating to leadership as needed
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and assist with stocking during open hours
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards
- Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-Up, and returns; comply with applicable laws
- All other duties based on business needs

- Teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success
- Open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times)
- Effective communication, positive language, and attention to guests’ needs
- A welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and teammates
- Attention to detail and prioritization of tasks
- Ability to educate guests about products and services
- Ability to operate handheld scanners and technology equipment as directed; work independently and as part of a team
- Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Accurately handle checkout operations and support cash office tasks as needed
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely; frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 44 pounds without assistance
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays); reliable attendance
- Ability to stay mobile during shift; exposure to varying temperatures and elements for certain duties
