Compensation Pay Range
$16.50 - $24.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance bonuses, and premiums that may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, and multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
EssentialJob Functions
- The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations.
- Manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts.
- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, ensuring team members execute customer service programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late‑afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring members, and ensuring training completion.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure qualified selections.
- Ensure the telephone is answered in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure all buy‑online/ship‑to‑store, hub and store‑to‑store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are notified upon shipment arrivals.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and in accordance with procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friend lily, issue refunds accurately using correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise appropriately.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted work schedules, obtain approvals for deviations, and clock in/out correctly.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying/securing money and deposits, preparing bank deposits as needed, ensuring night security lights are on, locking doors, securing the building, arming/disarming alarms, and securing delivery vehicles.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Required:
Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification. - Desired:
Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification. - Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
- Experience in customer service, retail sales, or automotive retail environments preferred.
