Laundry Attendant

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our Housekeeping Team as a Laundry Attendant. In this role, you will be responsible for cleaning linens, robes, and towels for the hotel, pool, and spa. You will set up and operate cleaning machines, selecting the appropriate wash cycles based on the fabric type. This is a part-time position requiring availability on weekends and holidays.

All candidates must undergo a background check and physical fitness test.

• Linens washed and replaced every day
• Ensure all articles are properly labeled and stored to prevent loss or misplacement
• Rewash stained items as needed
• Maintain the laundry area and equipment in excellent condition
• Clean public restrooms and assist with pool pick-up
• Provide support to hotel guests with their laundry needs
• Clean and service W&R employee and public restrooms in a timely and organized manner according to procedures and standards, including emptying wastebaskets, transporting trash to disposal area, cleaning, and replenishing bathroom supplies
• Clean and pick up pool towels on a regular basis throughout the day
• Coordinate with the rest of the hotel staff, especially the housekeeping and spa departments, to ensure communication of needs is met and items are replenished for use
• Follow proper procedures for handling chemicals associated with housekeeping
• Will clean hotel rooms as needed

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Hotel Laundry Attendant
• Bilingual abilities are a plus
• Able to understand and convey housekeeping and maintenance needs effectively. Communicate necessary information to supervisors and staff regarding guest issues
• Effective at managing multiple priorities, working under pressure, and exercising good time management. Demonstrate good judgment in guest and employee situations and challenges
• Must be adaptable to different job roles within the department and able to handle changing conditions, priorities, and unexpected situations
• Flexibility in schedule is required, as the role may involve working at unusual hours

Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Walking, standing, and repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs; bending, squatting, grasping, pushing, pulling, and reaching above and below shoulder level; climbing stairs and step ladders, kneeling, crawling, power grasping. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach; lift and carry equipment and supplies such as full large laundry bags, towels, and linens.

Constantly walk and stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours) and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to walk over uneven ground, across 5 acres, and up and down stairs with or without reasonable accommodation. Exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity, and wetness, as well as dust, chemicals, and fumes. Work around elevated temperatures and loud noises from washing machines.

Ability to see and read printed material and room numbers with or without vision aids. Hear and understand speech at normal levels.
