Provides assistance in providing patient care during labor, delivery and recovery. Performs surgical scrub duties, maintains acceptable levels of supplies, and provides turnover of patient areas. Assists in the operating room with obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) related surgery. Assists with patient care before and after surgery.
Job Requirements- High School Education/GED or equivalent:
Required - Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
Preferred
- Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification:
Preferred - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS or HS‑BLS or RQIBLS) certification:

- Assists in preparation of patient rooms. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedure utilizing aseptic technique, and checking integrity of sterile packaging.
- Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner. Participates in the timeout on each case.
- Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient.
- Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens. Applies fetal monitoring equipment. Takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height and intake & output (I&O) measurements. Performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living for patients in providing general care.
- Prepares, positions, transports, transfers and discharges patient.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
