Primary Responsibilities
- Prioritize and coordinate work activities between Enterprise Safety and business unit leaders to identify safety initiatives and action plans to improve safety performance.
- Advise business unit management on safety issues in supervised areas (environmental health, health services, or workers compensation). In large sites, responsibilities may be performed under the direction of a Site Safety & Health Manager.
- Develop, lead and manage safety projects aligned with identified business objectives and safety needs (e.g., ergonomics, safety management system, safety coaching). Align Enterprise strategies with unit objectives to deliver site-specific safety programs.
- Supervise staff in related functional areas (Environmental, Health Services, or Workers Comp) and ensure site-specific compliance in partnership with Enterprise-level leadership. Set schedules, assign work, monitor performance, and develop direct reports. Lead efforts to sustain a behavior-based safety culture.
- Conduct safety evaluations (audits, inspections, accident investigations) with site management and assist in corrective actions. Train supervisors and staff to support program needs and regulatory audits.
- Work with site leadership and manufacturing engineering to assess safety of new or modified equipment/processes per Andersen’s Safety Assessment Procedure; participate in problem solving and seek guidance from Enterprise Safety as needed.
- May support site OSHA inspections and assist in maintaining accuracy records per guidelines.
- Analyze safety performance indicators to identify trends and risks; prioritize countermeasures and develop initiatives with Enterprise Safety to reduce risks to associates.
- Oversee site-specific safety and environmental training programs (e.g., incident investigation, lockout/tagout, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, safety inspections, Job Safety Analysis, audiometric testing, hazardous waste, stormwater, air compliance, spill response) as directed; include new associate orientations to reduce hazards and ensure compliance.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Safety Engineering, Environmental Management or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in safety and/or Environmental Management, preferably in manufacturing.
- Technical knowledge/experience of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI code regulations and compliance.
- Minimum 3+ years of formal leadership experience managing direct reports.
- Proven track record of delivering outstanding results; experience leading behavior-based safety programs.
- Ability to develop a strong team through coaching and development; strategic planning and alignment of safety initiatives with organizational goals.
- Up to 25% travel to other Andersen locations.

Salary Information
Pay is based on factors including experience, education, location, certifications, etc. The salary range for this position is $88K–$136K annually. Andersen offers benefits including comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, holidays, Wellbeing program, and profit sharing (subject to eligibility).
