Yard Hostler, Service Distribution; Afternoon Shift

What to Expect

We are currently hiring a skilled Yard Hostler for our Product Distribution Warehouse to support our Service Operations. Hook‑up driver yard spotter drives trucks or tractors to and from vehicle parking and docking area to move, position, and park 53' trailers. Move production material trailers on request to fulfil the just‑in‑time delivery method. Spots (positions) loaded and unloaded trailers at assigned dock space for unloading or loading using a tractor.

Document all moves using the PINC trailer management system and communicate all moves to warehouse management.

• Responsible for using an industrial tractor to move trailers as instructed within the yard to facilitate shipping and receiving functions
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to hooking and unhooking trailers, moving trailers in and out of doors, and securing and sealing outbound trailer doors
• Will always professionally represent the Company
• Assisting with yard clean up, working YMS shack when needed to assist with check‑in and out of trailers
• Documents and reports on all maintenance and safety issues
• Responsible for completing daily yard checks and always maintaining the accuracy of the yard through YMS

• Minimum of 1-year tractor/trailer experience (3 axle tractor, 53' trailer)
• Must be able to read at a distance close to the eyes, and at arm's length, with or without correction. Driving requires distance vision. Constant alertness while driving
• Strong command of English, both written and verbal, is required
• Ability to stand, walk, climb in and out of tractors frequently, lift up to 50 lbs. daily, manually crank landing gear, and repetitively open and close trailer doors at different heights (4-5 ft.)
• Must endure and safely operate in extreme weather and climate conditions, working both outdoors and indoors, including in warehouse environments
• Must have experience operating a forklift, preferably within the last year; current forklift certification is strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license required; CDL is preferred but not required
