Shift Supervisor – 2nd & 3rd Shift; Injection Molding

Magenta LLC is expanding and seeking strong leaders for 2nd and 3rd Shift Production Supervisor roles. We operate a fast-paced injection molding facility serving medical, aerospace, defense, and consumer markets. These roles require a shift leader who can run the floor independently, support operators, answer machine alarms, and assist with basic process troubleshooting when Process Technicians are not available.

These are critical leadership positions responsible for maintaining safety, quality, and production flow during our off-shifts.

The Production Supervisor oversees all molding and assembly operations on their assigned shift. This includes leading production teams, supporting equipment uptime, coordinating workflows, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This Supervisor must be hands-on: able to respond to press alarms, identify root causes, perform basic adjustments, and escalate issues appropriately.

• Lead and support all production personnel on 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Ensure team members follow safety, quality, SQF, and company policies.
• Assign work, manage shift priorities, and maintain production flow.
• Train and coach operators and material handlers as needed.

• Respond promptly to machine alarms, faults, and stoppages.
• Perform basic processing adjustments within defined standards (temperature, pressures, speeds) to restore stable operation.
• Escalate complex issues to Process Technicians or Maintenance when required.
• Verify changeovers, startups, and shutdowns follow documented procedures.
• Support basic troubleshooting on auxiliary equipment (dryers, hoppers, thermolators, conveyors, robots).

• Ensure all parts produced meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Perform in-process checks and confirm proper documentation is completed.
• Stop production immediately if quality risks are identified.

• Maintain shift production records, downtime reasons, scrap, and shift reports.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and escalate risks proactively.
• Partner with scheduling, warehouse, and quality to ensure smooth operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve uptime, reduce scrap, and streamline operations.
• Provide feedback to engineering, processing, and maintenance on recurring issues.
• Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and procedures.

• 5+ years of experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing (supervisory experience preferred).
• Ability to perform basic processing adjustments and respond to press alarms.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of molding equipment.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage off-shift operations independently.
• Solid understanding of safety, quality, and production standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read production schedules, work instructions, and quality specifications.
• Must be able to work required shift (2nd or 3rd), including occasional overtime.

• Ability to stand for 8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment.
