Job SummaryThe Production Lead is responsible for leading a manufacturing production team to work injury‑free/incident free in a manufacturing environment. The production lead is responsible and accountable for employee safety, quality, and production in a specific area. This is a union role.
Job Responsibilities- Follows, and ensures others follow, all policies, standards, and safety requirements defined by the company
- Drives safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactivelyhelpers hazards
- Participates in hiring, schedules, and supervises full time staff and additional temporary staff
- Provides coaching and corrective feedback timely as well as initiating disciplinary processes up to and including termination, as necessary
- Participates in timely quarterly and annual reviews for all team members
- Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution
- Oversees all process documentation and training program procedures for consistency of operational tasks, and the safety and cleanliness of the workplace
- Works directly with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance, to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses
- Tracks productivity for measured efficiency and improvement and operates at or below the budgeted cost for production utilizing lean manufacturing procedures and cross training
- Oversees adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy goals are constantly achieved
- Assists with troubleshooting and solving production issues
- Performs other duties as requested by management
- At least 1 year of Lead/Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Able to operate under pressure, meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize workload and capacity to multi-task
- Ability to lead by example and build effective teams
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a factory environment and perform manual labor
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPointిఫ>
- Ability to read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- The hourly pay rate is $40.56/hr
