Reporting to the Director of International Enrollment, the International Admission Specialist will assist F-1 Visa international applicants through the admission and student Visa process. Responsibilities include updating and maintaining student records and communicating with and advising students through the onboarding process. The International Admission Specialist will also serve as a new Designated

SEVISOfficial (DSO) to support creating visa records and student visa processing.

DSO Responsibilities
  • Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) to assist with the Initial Attend process within the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) for both degree-seeking and exchange scholar international students
  • Ensure data integrity within

    SEVIS,ISSM, and Slate systems
Recruitment
  • Assist with Graduate international student recruitment strategies, in collaboration with the Director of International Enrollment and Executive Director of International Affairs; including implementation of an International Enrollment Plan that identifies and develops opportunities to maximize and diversity international student enrollment
  • Meet with prospective students and their families during individual campus visits or other scheduled recruitment events.
  • Assist with regional marketing strategies to generate leads and promote university programs to a global audience; analyze market trends to implement appropriate recruitment strategies.
Admissions
  • Manage the admission pipeline of international graduate applications within Slate, including record review and collaboration with Graduate Program Directors for admission processing
  • Maintain regular correspondence and timely follow-up with inquiries and applicants in order to facilitate enrollment of new international students.
  • Advise new graduate students throughout the onboarding and registration process;
    Advise new graduate students onCPT/OPTemployment opportunities
  • Advise all international students on F1 Visa regulations and maintaining their legal

    SEVISstatus while in the United States.
Other
  • Serve as a liaison and resource person with university student organizations, administrative departments (academic departments, Athletics, International Student and Global Scholar Services, Enrollment Management, Student Services, and the Bursars Office), and outside agencies (U.S. Department of State,SEVP,DHS,USCIS, Education

    USA, and foreign government consulates). Serve on University committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen or lawful permanent resident to be trained as a DSO, per Department of Homeland Security regulations
  • Energetic and motivated individuals who excel at building relationships and work well in a collaborative environment; strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with database systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a university admission office
  • One to three years in international recruitment or advising
