Summary Description

Under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, or Superintendent, plans, directs, and supervises field electrical construction activities and operations of assigned projects in a safe and productive manner. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Forepersons are generally assigned to manage projects with up to ten plus (10+) employees.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
  • Effectively manages the requisition, storage and safeguarding all equipment, tools and vehicles.
  • Effectively manages requisition, storage and safeguarding of materials.
  • Effectively manages jobsite labor.
  • Effectively manages project administrative tasks.
  • Supervises assigned personnel in order to maximize career development for employees including giving feedback for performance evaluations.
  • Effectively manages subcontractors and outside services.
  • Effectively manages project close out process.
  • Effectively manages projects requiring ten plus (10+) employees onsite independently.
Job Qualifications

Skills/

Educational Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalency; post high school education desirable but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical construction at Journeyperson level.
  • Completion of a state-approved apprenticeship program and the ability to obtain a Maryland and Delaware Electrical Journeyperson License, preferred. (Dependent upon required licensing, this may be a requirement of the position in the future)
  • Ability to read, understand and effectively apply construction drawings, specifications and electrical schematics.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage people in a professional, constructive manner.
  • Ability to organize and administer multiple job functions with good attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic level computer literacy including word processing, working with spreadsheets, processing emails and data entry.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical trade and applicable building and electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of and ability to deal with other construction trades.
  • Must be confident, decisive, self-motivated.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location/office.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must purchase company required personal tools (see attached list) and maintain in good condition.
  • Ability and willingness to drive company vehicles as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally to jobsites as needed.
Physical Requirements:
  • Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8 to 10-hour shifts.
  • Standing and climbing 4 to 6 hours/day.
  • Kneeling, lifting, reaching above shoulders, and bending 4 to 5 hours/day.
  • Twisting (180° ) and walking 2 to 3 hours/day.
  • Squatting and sitting 1 to 2 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 75 lbs. at the following frequencies: continuous lifting of 10 to 35 lbs.; frequent lifting of 35 to 50 lbs.; occasional lifting of 50 to 75 lbs.; sizes & shapes of objects vary from concrete blocks to cylinders to 10' lengths of metallic conduit and 20' lengths of PVC conduit; average carry requirements, 60 lbs. for 40'.
