Description:

The First Church of Christ is seeking a Senior Minister who has earned a BA or BS degree in biblical studies or related field of study. The successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly through inspirational teaching, and will demonstrate a warm, compassionate personality that supports the church and community through visitation and spiritual guidance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the biblical qualities of Elders and Shepherds as identified in 1 Timothy 4:6-13 and 1 Peter 5:1-4.

The successful candidate will use his spiritual gifts to preach and teach, to problem solve, and to foster a spirit of cooperation across all age groups.

• Delivering clear biblical sermons.
• Supporting and strengthening a team approach to ministry.
• Developing and supervising a plan for growing the church.
• Educating and nurturing the entire church family.
• Advocating for the youth program.

The church traces its roots to 1857 and averages approximately 70 in attendance for Sunday Worship Service. We offer adult Sunday school classes, and children’s classes. Lock Haven, Pennsylvania is located in a mountainous area along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. We are home to Commonwealth University – Lock Haven, and in close proximity to Penn State University.

Salary range: $45,000 – $55,000 per year. Benefits (per year): $600 for professional development; and $3,500 medical stipend.
