Are you ready to be part of the team that keeps Fishguard moving? At Stena Line, we’re not just transforming the shipping industry—we’re leading the way toward a sustainable future by connecting Europe. Become part of our close-knit, supportive team where challenges are met with collaboration, and every day is an opportunity to grow. The journey begins with us, and it begins with you.

As a vital member of our Port Operations Team, your primary focus will be operating Tug Masters to safely and efficiently move unaccompanied freight. This crucial role ensures the smooth flow of port operations, supporting vessel arrivals and departures with precision. Beyond Tug Driving, you’ll also assist with safely mooring vessels, coordinating the loading and unloading of freight and vehicles, and facilitating passenger transportation as needed.

If you’re ready to contribute to a dynamic team and take on a hands-on role where Tug Driving is at the forefront, we’d love to have you on board!

Responsibilities
  • Operate Tug Masters as the primary focus of the role, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of unaccompanied freight.
  • Uphold the Stena Line brand by demonstrating our core values of being welcoming, caring, and reliable.
  • Provide top-level customer service in line with our standards at Ports and Terminals.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of freight and vehicles during vessel arrivals and departures.
  • Safely marshal freight and passenger vehicles for smooth embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Contribute to fostering a positive safety culture and psychological safety within the team.
  • Support mooring operations, marshalling, and the operation of linkspans and ramps.
  • Maintain and care for equipment, facilities, and tools, ensuring any faults are reported.
  • Carry out additional tasks as required to meet local operational needs.

Working Pattern
This permanent part-time role follows a structured rota with clearly defined working hours of 28 hours per week and scheduled days off, offering predictability and balance to support your commitments outside of work.

What we’re looking for
  • You’re a safety-first professional with experience operating large vehicles like HGVs, Tug masters, or agricultural machinery. You enjoy hands-on work, are quick to adapt, and bring a strong team spirit to every shift. Your communication skills and customer-focused mindset make you a great fit for our port operations team.
  • Experience operating large vehicles (HGVs, Tug masters, or similar) – Desirable.
  • Previous work in port operations or logistics – Desirable.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Commitment to safety and following structured procedures.
