Job SummaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse/ODP to join the team within the Endoscopy Unit at Prince Philip Hospital. The successful individual will work within a team assisting to deliver the highest standards of pre, peri and post‑procedure care to patients undergoing a variety of endoscopy procedures. This busy unit can work over six days a week, offering a service to both out‑patients and in‑patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for adults.
MainDuties
- Provide support and training to gain exceptional knowledge and skills in gastroenterology, including anatomy and physiology.
- Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy and urology.
- Collaborate daily with gastroenterologists, surgeons, nurse endoscopists and Bowel Screening Wales practitioners.
- Participate in a standard competency pathway with a mentor and undertake training in accordance with development needs.
- Further develop skills in management, bowel screening and specialist endoscopy for future career prospects.
- English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome; speaking Welsh is desirable.

Person Specification Essential- Current NMC/H CPC registration
- Degree in Adult Nursing, Higher Education Diploma or Degree in Operating Department Practice
- Evidence of post‑registration study and training
- Teaching/Assessor qualification
- Pre‑registration evidence in direct nursing care
- Experience of providing holistic nursing care
- Interest in developing personal and professional skills
- Clear understanding of clinical governance framework
- Implement evidence‑based practice
- Previous endoscopy or theatre experience
- Welsh speaker (Level 1) – desirable
