As a member of the Quality Assurance and Practice Development team the post-holder will be supported by the Senior Nurse for Quality Assurance and Practice Development, to work dynamically and collaboratively to facilitate the University Health Board, MHLD Directorate and Professional nursing priorities. Working substantively with all levels of nursing and multi-disciplinary teams in practice locations, to promote excellence in nursing and continual professional development that delivers safe and high quality care to patients.
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the facilitation of specific service development initiatives and programmes across the Directorate as directed by the Senior Nurse of Quality Assurance and Practice Development (MHLD). The post holder will need to recognise and utilise creative and accessible work-based learning opportunities to enable the key objectives of the role to be achieved successfully.
The Professional Practice and Service Improvement Nurse will support the development of service improvement across the Directorate. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across all locations to support the wider Directorate team and deliver key objectives and will be mainly based in Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
The Main Duties Are
Working autonomously as a specialist and accessible professional role model for practice-based staff providing professional and practice development advice.
Promoting the development of a creative learning culture.
Developing, delivering and evaluating formal/informal teaching sessions and work-based learning programmes.
Contributing towards initiatives that result in changes to existing practice and systems of professional working.
Promoting critical analysis of the current evidence base encouraging staff to apply the findings to nursing/clinical practice, advocating a research-based approach towards all professional practice activity.
Contribute to relevant University Health Board committees/groups.
Regular review and evaluation of work undertaken in conjunction with the Senior Nurse for Professional Practice and Quality Assurance to measure the effectiveness of outcomes into nursing/clinical practice and patient care.
Undertake Serious Incident Reviews across the Directorate, working with colleagues to create and implement Improvement Plans and associated learning from event forum attendance.
Lead on Quality Improvement Projects across the Directorate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
