Mechanical Engineer

A leading organisation specialising in Nuclear Site Services, able to maintain a variety of remote handling and associated equipment to exacting standards. Supporting major projects throughout the Nuclear Industry, for UK and International clients, from concept and design to installation and maintenance. As we expand our business we are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong design expertise and a passion for delivering safe and compliant engineering solutions.

Responsible for developing mechanical designs that meet nuclear standards, working across the full life cycle from initial concept development, detailed design, calculations and documentation. Seeing the idea turned into reality.

• Produce high-quality 3D models and detailed drawings using industry standard CAD tools
• Developing Mechanical Designs that comply with Nuclear standards and safety requirements
• Conduct engineering calculations and design justifications
• Support technical documentation
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs and quality assurance activities
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical design, maintenance, and customers
• Contribute to continuous Improvement and knowledge sharing within the teams
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent experience
• Strong CAD capability and experience producing detailed engineering drawings
• Understanding of Mechanical Design principles and processes
• Experience in documentation writing, Machine Risk Assessments, Operating Instructions etc
• Experience of working within a regulated industry (Nuclear, Defense, Aerospace etc)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to produce clear engineering justifications
• Security Clearance or the ability to obtain
