Position: Supply Teaching assistant (Temporary)
Job Overview

We are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Supply Teaching Assistants to work across both Primary and Secondary schools in Llanelli, supporting Welsh-medium and English-medium settings.

This role offers flexibility and variety, providing classroom support on a short-term and long-term supply basis.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teachers and pupils, assisting with learning activities, and helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants or individuals looking to gain further experience across different key stages and school settings.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide classroom support across Primary and Secondary year groups.

* Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups where required.

* Assist with delivering planned learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.

* Support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) where necessary.

* Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies.

* Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

* Adapt to both Welsh-medium and English-medium classroom environments (Welsh-speaking skills highly desirable for Welsh-medium settings).

Candidate Requirements

* Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.

* Relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent (desirable).

* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

* Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Welsh language skills are advantageous for work in Welsh-medium schools.

Job Skills

* Classroom support experience in Primary and/or Secondary education.

* Knowledge of ALN/SEN support strategies.

* Behaviour management skills.

* Strong organisational and communication abilities.

* Flexible and proactive approach to work.

Job Location and Environment

This role involves working across a range of Primary and Secondary schools in Llanelli, supporting both Welsh-medium and English-medium provisions. Schools promote inclusive learning environments, high standards of safeguarding, and collaborative working practices.
