Vision Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a client of ours, a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the Essex and Kent
.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager with a proven track record in managing multiple residential groundworks packages to join a growing, professional team.

The Role:

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of residential groundworks projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Working closely with clients, site teams, and the commercial department, you will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively manage health & safety across all sites
  • Produce and manage site-specific RAMS
  • Liaise with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction and performance
  • Produce and manage contract programmes to ensure site teams meet programme, quality, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Manage and allocate appropriate plant, labour, and resources
  • Work closely with the Commercial Team to maintain commercial control and work within budget
  • Ensure full compliance with company procedures and policies
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing multiple large residential groundworks packages
  • Strong technical knowledge of groundworks
  • Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Effective time management and prioritisation
  • Experience producing and maintaining programmes using Asta Power project or MS Project
  • Fully computer literate, including Microsoft Office
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Strong people management skills
Preferred Qualifications & Training:
  • CSCS Managers Card
  • SMSTS
  • Temporary Works Coordinator
  • Construction qualification (HNC / HND or degree)
