About The Oceancy International

The Oceancy International is a project developer specialized in nature-based solutions and carbon markets.

The company develops large-scale mangrove restoration and agroforestry projects across multiple regions including Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America.

To date, the company has developed 8 large-scale nature-based carbon projects, several of which are entering the investment and commercialization phase. These projects aim to generate high-integrity carbon credits while restoring ecosystems, protecting biodiversity, and supporting local communities.

The Oceancy is developing a project portfolio with a potential of more than 40 million carbon credits to be issued over the coming years through large-scale ecosystem restoration projects.

In addition, the company currently manages a portfolio of more than 6 million issued carbon credits available for spot transactions, sourced from projects certified under major standards including Verra, Gold Standard, ACR, CAR, and Puro.earth.

The Oceancy works with local partners, investors, and corporate buyers to structure and finance climate projects through carbon credit sales, forward offtake agreements, and strategic partnerships.

Our ambition is to unlock large-scale financing for ecosystem restoration and connect high-impact projects with global carbon markets and climate finance.

The Role

We are looking for a Co-Founder / Chief Commercial Officer to support the financing, commercialization, and strategic partnerships of the company.

The role focuses on mobilizing capital, developing strategic partnerships, and building innovative financing mechanisms to support the development of large-scale nature-based carbon projects.

The selected candidate will also help commercialize the company’s existing carbon credit portfolio, working with corporate buyers, investors, and partners active in the voluntary carbon market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with corporate carbon credit buyers, climate funds, and institutional investors
  • Structure forward offtake agreements and long-term carbon credit purchase agreements
  • Support the commercialization of the company’s existing carbon credit portfolio
  • Support the financing of large-scale nature-based carbon projects
  • Develop and implement innovative financing strategies for climate projects
  • Expand the company’s network of investors, donors, foundations, and strategic partners
  • Contribute to fundraising strategies and capital mobilization
  • Identify new financial structures and partnerships to support project development
  • Support the company’s commercial strategy and positioning in global carbon markets
Candidate Profile

We are looking for a business-minded and entrepreneurial professional with strong capabilities in climate finance, partnerships, and capital raising.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in carbon markets, climate finance, sustainability, or project development
  • Strong business development and partnership-building experience
  • Ability to build relationships with corporate buyers, investors, and strategic partners
  • A strong network within investment funds, family offices, climate funds, philanthropies, or corporate sustainability teams
  • Ability to think creatively about financing structures and innovative funding mechanisms
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution
  • A strong motivation to fight climate change, protect ecosystems, and support local communities

Fluent English is required, and additional languages are a plus in our international context.

What We Offer
  • Opportunity to join as a co‑founder in a company with an established portfolio of large‑scale nature‑based carbon projects
  • Work on ecosystem restoration initiatives across multiple continents
  • Direct exposure to global carbon markets, investors, and climate finance networks
  • A flexible and entrepreneurial environment with significant strategic impact
Compensation

This role includes equity participation with a vesting schedule, structured based on the candidate’s profile, experience, and level of commitment.

Equity terms may also reflect a financial investment or strategic contribution to support the company’s growth.

The ideal candidate may also participate as an investor in The Oceancy International, and bring a strong network of investors, climate funds, donors, or strategic partners to support the financing of the company’s projects.

  • This position offers the opportunity to become a key partner in a company developing large-scale nature-based carbon projects and commercializing carbon credits globally.
