Senior Java Software Engineer

We’re seeking to connect a Senior Software Engineer with a leading company in the insurance and financial services industry on a full time basis. The role is remote or hybrid (Livonia, MI). As a Senior Software Engineer, you will join a collaborative integration and platform services team focused on building a modern, API-first and event-driven architecture.

• Collaborate closely with Dev Ops, Security, and Data teams to design and deliver a scalable integration platform.
• Break down platform initiatives into actionable technical requirements for engineering teams.
• Design and implement API gateway, event streaming, and schema governance solutions.
• Lead technical proofs of concept and drive solutions from architecture through production operations.
• Modernize legacy integrations using event-driven and strangler migration patterns.
• Implement enterprise observability, monitoring, and performance tuning best practices.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in large-scale software engineering.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience with API gateway patterns and OpenAPI specifications.
• Experience implementing distributed tracing and centralized observability tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
