Overview: Trinity Health Livonia is a 304‑bed acute care hospital located in Livonia, MI. The Security Officer is often the first and last employee to interact with the public. Working under the direction of the Lead Officer in Charge, the Security Officer patrols assigned areas, watches for unauthorized entry and safety compromises, and follows instructions from legitimate authorities while always demonstrating professional public‑relations skills.

Responsibilities:

• Patrol assigned areas and observe for unauthorized entry or security threats.
• Respond to all orders given by legitimate authorities, provided they do not violate the law or place anyone in danger.
• Maintain excellent public‑relations and social skills with all persons encountered.
• Function professionally under stressful circumstances, including communicating with upset, disturbed, or confused individuals.

Qualifications:

• Six to twelve months of related experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
• Military Police, professional Police Officer training, or certification desirable.
• Previous security‐related employment (Police, Military, Security, etc.) desirable.
• Basic knowledge of health‑care security function desirable.
• CPR certified within 6 months of hire date.
• Modified CPI training within 6 months of hire date.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, personable, polite, helpful, and even‑tempered with good verbal skills.
