CNC Machinist - Hob & Shape

Delta Research is an AS9100 and ISO
9001 registered facility which manufactures Automotive & Truck Differentials, Gear Products, Prototype/Development and Production, Transmission Builds. In addition, we provide contract gear and CMM inspection services. We are also a NADCAP approved non-destructive testing facility and currently provide Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch.

Openings on both 1st and 2nd Shift

1st Shift

Hours:

Monday - Friday from 6:00an - 2:30pm (1-2 hours daily overtime and some weekends)
2nd Shift

Hours:

Monday - Friday from 4:00pm - 12:30am (1-2 hours daily overtime and some weekends)

• Set up and operate CNC Gear Hobing and Shaping equipment with minimal to no supervision
• Cutting gear and spline teeth and holding tolerances of between .001"-.0001" on lead and involute
• Run a CNC gear inspection machine along with micrometers, gages and amps
• Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and collaborate with management staff and supervisor
• Verify part quantity with the job traveler
• Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications
• Load and unload machines as per the cycle time noted on the traveler
• Determine when wheels need replacement
• Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to operate CNC machinery as required
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques preferred
• Prior experience with 1st piece and in-process inspection of work required
• Use inspection methods to determine size changes
• Understanding blueprints & travelers

• Must have ability to lift 25-40 lbs
• Frequent Standing, Twisting and Bending
