Summary: Collaborate with the Medical Director of the Henry Ford Health Center for Vision Rehabilitation to enhance safety, independence, and quality of life for individuals with vision impairment through world-class low vision care. Report directly to the Chair, Department of Ophthalmology and Eye Care Services.

• Manage comprehensive low vision cases and provide consultations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, agencies for the blind and visually impaired, orientation and mobility specialists, social workers, and certified driving rehabilitation specialists.
• Perform specialty contact lens fitting to maximize visual function if necessary.
• Assist in maintaining proper staffing and coverage within the clinic.
• Complete Michigan Optometric Low Vision Certification and pursue American Academy of Optometry Fellowship for professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with continuing education requirements for licensure in Michigan.
• Support staff training and practice development programs.
• Develop relationships within and outside of HFH.
• Attend scheduled meetings and act as a role model for staff.
• Practice and promote high standards of professional care.

• Graduation from an accredited optometry program.
• Previous direct patient care experience, with low vision rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Licensed as an Optometrist in Michigan.
