Total Spectrum’s Speech and Language Therapy uniquely integrates an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach to assist individuals with autism in developing as communicators. Therapy is individually tailored to improve language, speech, fluency, and the social use of language. Services include articulation, phonology, fluency, receptive language, expressive language, and pragmatic/social language, delivered in collaboration with BCBAs to create individualized programs that foster effective communication and social skills.
Responsibilities- Design and provide direct treatment to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders in one‑on‑one and group settings.
- Collaborate with ABA programming teams, including BCBAs and RBTs, to support center‑based and/or home‑based services.
- Serve as a behaviorally‑mindful Speech‑Language Pathologist to develop, implement, and evaluate interventions across all areas of SLT.
- Address deficits in articulation, phonology, fluency, receptive language, expressive language, and pragmatic/social language.
- Develop functional communication goals and provide AAC recommendations as needed.
- Consult with BCBAs and families on evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress.
- Monitor speech goal progress collaboratively with ABA and counseling teams.
- Participate in family treatment guidance meetings and complete session notes, progress notes, assessments, and reassessments promptly.
- Provide consultative support to ABA and counseling teams.
- Monitor billable hours weekly and report changes.
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology (required).
- License to practice as a Speech‑Language Pathologist (or ability to obtain one before hire).
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) or eligibility for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Experience working with children with autism.
- Preferred experience with AAC devices.
- Ability to train others and strong verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to evidence‑based practice, data‑based decision making, individualized instruction, and generalization.
