The RoleWe’re looking for a Tax Manager who is highly technical
, detail-oriented, and confident handling complex tax situations. You’ll review returns, manage tax projects, and play a key role in both compliance and advisory work.
This is a hands-on technical role
, not a sales position.
- Tax Compliance & Review
- Review complex federal and state tax returns including:
- S-Corporations, Partnerships, C-Corporations
- Multi-entity structures
- Review multi-state filings (individual and business)
- Ensure accurate state apportionment, nexus considerations, and filings
- Identify and resolve complex tax issues before filing
- Ensure compliance with current IRS and state regulations
- Assist with proactive tax planning strategies for business owners
- Analyze entity structures and transaction tax implications
- Support advisory deliverables and tax projections
- Research technical tax issues and provide clear, well-documented conclusions
- Work closely with leadership on higher-level tax strategy cases
- Maintain high technical standards and documentation
- Improve internal tax workflows and review processes
- Mentor and support preparers when needed
- Collaborate with bookkeeping and advisory teams to ensure clean data
- CPA required
- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Very strong technical tax knowledge
- Extensive experience reviewing complex business returns
- Strong understanding of:
- Pass-through taxation
- Basis tracking
- Reasonable compensation
- Multi-state compliance and filings
- Ability to research and apply tax law confidently
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
- Experience with tax planning and advisory services
- Real estate or closely-held business experience
- Experience reviewing rather than just preparing returns
- No 60–80 hour tax seasons
