I’m working with a well-established automation and capital equipment manufacturer in Michigan that is looking to hire an Applications / Proposal Engineer.

This position sits at the front end of the business, converting RFQs into structured, technically sound, commercially viable proposals.

• Managing RFQs from receipt through submission
• Defining system-level solutions based on customer requirements
• Developing pricing breakdowns and cost estimates
• Writing clear, descriptive proposals explaining the proposed solution
• Working cross-functionally with engineering and leadership to finalise submissions
• Supporting customer discussions during the pre-award phase

• 3–8+ years’ experience in Applications Engineering, Project Engineering, or similar
• Background in custom machinery, automation, test equipment, or capital equipment
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and equipment integration
• Experience responding to RFQs / RFPs
• Ability to clearly “tell the story” of a technical solution in writing
• Strong organisational and time management skills
