Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Overview
Aristeo is seeking a Superintendent to lead field teams across manufacturing, industrial, and power & energy sectors. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while upholding quality standards.
Note:
The position may require short and long-term travel or relocation for project assignments.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to ensure contracts compliance
- Act as the “First-In-Command” on projects, maintaining professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness at all times
- Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance
- Provide technical, manpower, means, and method input to the estimating process as requested
- Monitor and ensure worker and subcontractor safety; report accidents immediately to Safety Director
- Investigate accidents and complete Accident Forms
- Lead effective morning huddles with crews to coordinate daily and weekly activities
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and progress meetings as required
- Act as a safety champion on projects and enforce all safety rules; address violations when workers do not follow procedures
- Correct unsafe conditions immediately
- Review project scope, subcontractor scopes, plans, specifications, schedule, and cost controls
- Review and understand subcontractor scope and schedule
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop the Project Schedule; determine trade, staffing, material, and equipment needs; confirm availability with Field Operations; verify subcontractors can meet schedule
- Coordinate project safety, security, logistics, layout, permits, and general/special conditions
- Implement Safety/Security Program including site setup and general condition requirements
- Establish project survey and base layout control and benchmarks
- Provide direction for self-performed work; determine quantities and resources; lead and direct Aristeo and subcontractor personnel; ensure quality, cost, schedule, and client satisfaction goals are met
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, AE, subcontractors, labor, and the construction team; attend progress meetings and provide information as required
- Maintain project documentation such as plans, specifications, as-builts, shop drawings, inspections, test reports, meeting minutes, and daily logs
- Provide daily field reports with labor coding and percentage complete information as requested
- Maintain records and communicate scope/schedule changes to the PM for pricing
- Handle labor relations and jurisdictional disputes
- Assist with closeout requirements
- Strong understanding of civil/site, architectural/finish, mechanical and electrical work
- Thorough knowledge of construction aspects, craft agreements, negotiations, engineering, cost control schedules, and safety
- Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret plans and specifications
- Thorough working knowledge of OSHA, safety, security, and environmental rules
- Experience with Primavera, Prolog, and Viewpoint
- Strong problem-solving and planning abilities
- 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent on industrial projects with large, multi-union crews
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training/experience
- 10 hours of MIOSHA Class
- OSHA 30 and/or MUST Modules
- First Aid and CPR
- Accident Investigation
