ResponsibilitiesAnalyze production, material, and labor costs to improve profitability, providing financial insights to management through reports, budgets, and variance analysis, focusing on cost control, efficiency, and accurate financial reporting in line with GAAP. Key duties include developing cost standards, managing inventory valuation, supporting budgeting, and collaborating with operations to identify waste and cost-saving opportunities.
Applies principles of cost accounting to provide detailed cost information and support month-end closing activities. Works closely with operations and engineering to analyze cost drivers and improve profitability.

- Collect and analyze cost data (materials, labor, overhead) for accurate reporting, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
- Ensure DCP accounting standards are maintained in Bills of Material (BOM), Routes, and Structures.
- Analyze data obtained and record results for cost studies and variance analysis.
- Generate cost rolls for BOM changes and validate updates against engineering change notices.
- Review and correct PMC errors (inventory transactions in XA).
- Prepare PPV variance reports and investigate top variances.
- Build cost models for new product launches and validate assumptions.
- Reconcile accounts related to payables and inventory; prepare COGS and inventory reports for monthly close.
- Prepare and post accruals for expenses and services; maintain prepaid expense schedule and amortization.
- Track savings from Kaizen events and report quarterly; prepare monthly warranty cost analysis report.
- Validate logistic cost and freight allocations against shipment data.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering on cost drivers; attend weekly operations meetings to review cost drivers.
- Assist with sustainability and environmental cost tracking.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required, including month-end financial reports and GL entries.
- Must actively support Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies: report hazards, participate in safety training, meetings, inspections, and use required PPE.
Core Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficiency with ERP software, Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling tools.
- Understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Excellent communication to explain complex financial data.
