JOB SUMMARYThe Manager role oversees a small warehouse team and responsible for driving efficiency in all warehouse operations, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and customer expectations are consistently met. This position offers the opportunity to evaluate current workflows, identify gaps, and implement streamlined processes. Key responsibilities include supervising shipping, receiving, inventory control, and staff training. The role can also involve partnering with the sales team to support new business, and collaborating closely with our U.S. and Canadian brokerage teams, including coordination of cross‑docking activities from our Canadian facility.
KEYDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, direct workflow and process shipment transactions supporting business operations.
- Coordinate and manage all resources to ensure that the personnel have the tools and information required to maximize performance.
- Assist next levels of management to ensure that branch is working within budget from a cost perspective.
- Ensure client service meets corporate objectives.
- Review entry summaries for consistency and accuracy.
- Lead, coach, mentor and motivate staff.
- Manage staffing decisions: recruitment, hiring, training and terminations for the department or branch.
- Assist management and/or Director with special projects as required.
- Liaise with Customs, clients, carriers, and other business partners.
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Continually participate in employee development and performance management.
- Complete annual performance reviews and make salary recommendations.
- Stay apprised of changing Customs and regulatory requirements and disseminate information to staff and/or clients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management..
- Supervisory experience working in a warehouse or production enviornment
- Logistics or supply chain background a plus with knowledge in customs laws, regulations, procedures, and industry practices.
- Knowldge of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Clear confident communication
- Ability to motivate staff.
- Excellent team leadership and coaching
3 years of related experience
