We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Pelvic Floor Specialist (DPT, WCS) for a full-time position in Livingston, New Jersey

Responsibilities
  • On-site collaboration with our provider team to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal/postpartum musculoskeletal complaints, post-surgical rehabilitation, and sexual pain disorders.
  • Provide pelvic floor therapy across related domains described below.
  • Work with the care team to ensure integrated, evidence-based care for patients.
Pelvic Floor Therapy
  • Evaluate and treat pelvic floor dysfunction (e.g., incontinence, pelvic organ prolapses, pelvic pain).
  • Address both hypertonic (overactive) and hypotonic (under active) pelvic floor issues.
  • Utilize manual therapy, biofeedback, and therapeutic exercise.
Prenatal and Postpartum Care
  • Design safe, tailored exercise and rehabilitation programs for pregnant and postpartum patients.
  • Help manage pregnancy-related conditions (e.g., Diastasis recti, low back pain and pelvic girdle pain, Sciatica, and C-section recovery).
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics, posture, and breathing techniques.
Pain Management
  • Treat chronic pelvic pain, vulvodynia, dyspareunia, and interstitial cystitis.
  • Integrate pain neuroscience education with manual therapy and graded movement.
Post-Surgery Rehabilitation
  • Assist in recovery from gynecological surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy, prolapse repair).
  • Promote scar tissue mobilization to restore core and pelvic floor function.
Patient Education & Preventative Care
  • Guide patients on lifestyle modifications, pelvic health strategies, and exercise regimens.
  • Educate patients and other providers on pelvic health issues.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Work closely with OB/GYN physicians, nurse practitioners, midwives, and other allied health professionals to ensure integrated care.
Skills
  • Knowledge of obstetric conditions and pelvic anatomy.
  • Expertise in both external and internal pelvic floor assessments/treatments.
  • Familiarity with prenatal and postpartum exercise protocols and birth recovery practices.
  • Comfortable discussing sensitive topics related to sexual and reproductive health.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly around delicate or personal issues.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered care philosophy.
  • Ability to educate and empower patients through their recovery and wellness journey.
Education and Experience
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
  • New Jersey State licensure as a physical therapist.
  • Minimum Herman & Wallace Pelvic Function Level 1, required.
  • Herman & Wallace Pregnancy Rehabilitation, highly preferred.
  • Board Certification - WCS (Women’s Health Clinical Specialist) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in women’s health/pelvic health.
  • Prior experience in OB/GYN or similar clinical setting.
