JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a dedicated Exercise Assistant for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation to join our team. As an Exercise Assistant, you will work closely with our Cardiopulmonary Supervisor to support and instruct patients in exercise routines, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the rehabilitation process. Your role will be vital in helping patients improve their cardiovascular and pulmonary health through tailored exercise programs including coordinating the virtual fitness program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with patients to guide and support them during their individualized exercise routines and for home maintenance, ensuring each patients safety
- Monitor patients' vital signs, such as weight, heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, before, during, and after exercise sessions with the use of telemetry
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patients' exercise activities, progress, while reporting any unusual observations immediately to the program Supervisor
- Assist with daily charges entry
- Provide guidance to patients on exercise equipment usage and adjustments, and ensure equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
- Assists with the data collection and entry for Montana Outcomes Project, including the referral and admission process into the department
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and exercise science, and assist with implementation of policies and procedures necessary for daily functioning
- Perform other duties as assigned as well as assist with patient education projects
- Coordinate virtual fitness classes and oversite of program billing
- Track and manage program attendance, growth, program calendar, and meetings
- Serve as the first point of contact between patients and the program
- Ensure adequate instructor awareness on patients’ medical conditions and co-morbidities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Holds current BLS certification or able to acquire within 6 months of hire
- Proven experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical ability to assist patients with exercise and mobility as needed
- Proficiency in utilizing telemetry monitoring systems and interpreting data
- Flexibility to accommodate varying patient needs and program schedules, both in-person and remotely through telemetry monitoring
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated
- One year experience in healthcare setting is preferable
- Experience teaching group or individual exercise classes
