We are seeking a Director of Behavioral Health who is passionate about transforming lives and leading integrated, patient-centered behavioral health services across our multi-site FQHC network.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead with purpose:
Drive the strategic vision for behavioral health services embedded in collaborative primary care across 10+ clinic locations.
  • Build a culture of excellence and empathy:
Inspire and mentor a multidisciplinary team of licensed behavioral health professionals (LCSWs, LMFTs, ACSWs) and MSW students.
  • Drive meaningful integration:
Partner with medical, nursing, and administrative leaders to deliver whole-person, trauma-informed care.
  • Shape the future:
Expand access to behavioral health services in underserved communities while ensuring clinical quality and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all behavioral health programs across clinic locations.
  • Supervise and support behavioral health providers, develop policies and procedures, and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Oversee program budgets, grants, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor MSW students and provide clinical supervision to build the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate behavioral health into overall clinical operations and organizational goals.
  • Lead community engagement efforts to promote mental health awareness and access to culturally sensitive services.
Who You Are
  • A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D.) in California in good standing.
  • Hold a Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field from an accredited program (doctoral degree preferred).
  • Bring 3–5 years of behavioral health experience in a leadership role.
  • Experienced in multi-site clinic settings, preferably in FQHCs or other underserved communities.
  • A strategic thinker with strong leadership, team management, and program development skills.
  • Proficient in EHR systems, data analytics, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Calm under pressure, collaborative by nature, and committed to integrated, patient-centered care.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing behavioral health in multi-site settings.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing behavioral health services.
  • Ability to balance clinical oversight with administrative responsibilities.
  • Current BLS certification and valid California driver's license.
A Day in the Life
  • Provide strategic direction while staying connected to clinical operations and patient outcomes.
  • Lead team meetings, clinical supervision sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Partner across departments to ensure seamless integration of behavioral health and primary care.
  • Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders to expand access to services.
  • Work on-site 80% of the time with flexibility for extended hours when organizational needs require.
