Systems Engineer, IT Support
6 month Fixed Term contract - Full-time, 37.5 hours a week

Help get better trained personnel to the front line faster
Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver "better trained sailors to the front line faster".
You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting IT systems, resolving technical issues, supporting users, and ensuring the infrastructure remains secure and compliant with industry standards.
What you'll be doing- Implement and maintain IT infrastructure in line with company standards
- Install, configure, and support hardware, software, servers, and network systems
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Manage backups, disaster recovery processes, and system documentation
- Work with other IT teams to deliver system improvements and upgrades
- Provide technical support to users and support technology/vendor decisions
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure engineering
- Excellent knowledge of PC repair, installation/replacement of network hardware and software
- Knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs
- Experience with Windows Server operating systems and virtualisation technologies such as VMware and Hyper‑V
