Position overviewAre you an experienced physiotherapist with strong leadership skills and a passion for high‑quality assessment and rehabilitation? This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding role within West Lothian’s expanding community services.
West Lothian continues to invest in delivering rehabilitation closer to home through the Home First programme. Significant developments—including enhanced AHP staffing and the introduction of a community single point of contact—are strengthening patient pathways and improving access to timely, person‑centred care.
Key responsibilities- Provide cover and maintain continuity of safe, effective clinical leadership for the physiotherapy service within the Intermediate Care Team.
- Offer consistent clinical oversight and support smooth patient flow to meet key performance targets.
- Supervise and guide staff to sustain morale, professional development, and overall wellbeing.
- Work as part of a stable, dynamic multidisciplinary team dedicated to integrated working and delivering excellent patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with inpatient teams to facilitate early supported discharge and deliver high‑quality rehabilitation within the community.
The post involves close collaboration with inpatient colleagues to support early supported discharge and deliver high‑quality rehabilitation within the community. The role requires a Band 6 or Band 7 physiotherapist with the ability to provide cover and maintain continuity of leadership.

Contractual and work pattern informationFrom 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
