The Role
As Transport Planner, within the Container Logistics division, you'll thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities include:

· Liaising with hauliers to obtain updates and ensure delivery time frames are met

· Proactively resolving unforeseen challenges with minimal operational impact

· Managing customer expectations with professionalism and confidence

· Engaging with stakeholders at all levels across the business

· Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within transport operations

· Supporting operational efficiency across container logistics, and multimodal movements (experience in these areas is required)

· Dealing with multiple drivers and coordinating delivery times

· Communicating with ports and booking delivery slots for entry in ports

· Using a transport system (TOPS) to input drivers' start times and finish times

· Chasing drivers for ETAs and ensuring timely deliveries

· Rerouting jobs as needed to meet operational demands

· Ensuring all PODs are matched up with the correct jobs in the system

· Advising customers of potential delays and providing updated ETAs

This role would particularly suit someone with exposure to container logistics and/or multimodal transport operations, who understands the complexities of time-sensitive movements and thrives on solving logistical challenges.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

· Previous experience as a Transport Planner / Operator within Container Logistics - Essential

· Confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal)

· Excellent UK geographical knowledge

· Ability to work on own initiative

· Quick and efficient problem-solving skills

· Organised at all times

· Flexibility to meet the demands of the business
