YOUR ROLE

As a Transport Planner, you’ll be part of a dedicated team responsible for routing and coordinating container movements across road, rail, and feeder services.

Your mission is to ensure every transport is planned efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with vendor and customer requirements.

You’ll be the central point of contact for both internal teams and external transport partners—keeping operations smooth, building strong relationships, and ensuring high service standards every step of the way.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Planning and dispatching daily UK transport across road, rail, and feeder networks
  • Maximising efficiency through smart routing and cost‑effective decision‑making
  • Liaising with hauliers, rail partners, internal teams, and key transport accounts
  • Ensuring allocations are met and any additional costs are captured promptly
  • Providing updates, resolving service issues, and supporting colleagues during absences
  • Feeding back performance insights and helping maintain operational excellence
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in the transport or logistics industry would be highly advantageous
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stay calm and organised in a fast paced environment
  • A team‑focused attitude with the ability to work independently as required
  • Strong analytical skills with a high attention to deail
  • Solid MS Office capability;
    Destin8/CNS experience is a bonus
  • Strong UK geographical awareness
