About the Team:

The Emergency Duty Team working hours are for night owls, working evenings, weekends and Bank holidays and it certainly offers more than just a change of hours! No caseloads and no waking up wondering how many meetings you did not have time to prepare for! Each EDT shift is a new day and comes with new challenges each time. Warwickshire County Council’s Out of Hours Emergency Social Work Duty Team are looking to appoint Level 4 Advance/Enhanced Advanced Practitioners with experience in working with children.

Applicants will need to have 4/5+ years post qualification experience in children services. The role is varied and covers all aspects of working with vulnerable children and families and adults with emphasis on safeguarding. There is no risk of you being bored due to the variety of the work. You will be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

It is not, however, easy having to cover such a diverse workload and it can be stressful but there are significant rewards in being able to intervene when people are in crisis. All candidates must reside within the boundaries of Warwickshire.

You will need to be able to assess situations of risk quickly and accurately, have excellent communication and written skills and be able to think creatively.

About the Role:

We are recruiting for the role of Advanced Practitioner
- Social Worker Level 4 in our Emergency Duty Team (EDT) , covering Warwickshire County Wide for a permanent role. The Emergency Duty Team (EDT) provides a statutory social work service to all service users, carers and agencies that require an emergency response outside of normal working hours. The team operates shift patterns and annualised hours to include weekends, evenings/nights and bank holidays.

An enhanced financial allowance is payable monthly in addition to a competitive annual salary. Ongoing development, training, guidance, and support is always available. The role includes dealing with incoming referrals during out of office hours, working with families including vulnerable adults and children in a restorative manner to assess problems/crisis and to intervene appropriately and proportionately. You will be part of a highly experienced, supportive, creative and innovative team.
