Neway International are seeking an Experienced Adult Social Worker to join our client based with Liverpool City Council.

Location:

Aintree House, Aintree University Hospital, Longmoor Lane, Liverpool, Merseyside, L9 7AL

Hours:

17.5 hours per week

  • PAYE: £35.00 per hour

Liverpool City Council’s Adult Social Care & Health service delivers high‑quality, person‑centred support across Assessment & Care Delivery. The service is committed to safeguarding adults, promoting independence and improving outcomes for residents with care and support needs.

The Role

This role involves delivering effective adult social care practice as part of an integrated team. The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload, complete assessments, develop support plans, lead safeguarding enquiries and contribute to multi‑agency working. This is a hybrid role requiring strong professional judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied and complex caseload with appropriate supervision and professional accountability.
  • Complete assessments, support plans and reviews in line with legislation, policy and best practice.
  • Prepare high‑quality written reports, statements and Court of Protection applications where required.
  • Lead safeguarding enquiries, ensuring timely completion and clear outcomes.
  • Undertake capacity and best‑interests assessments.
  • Work directly with adults, carers and families in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Act as care navigator, coordinating multi‑agency responses to meet eligible needs.
  • Monitor and review support plans, identifying gaps in service provision.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Care Assessors, health professionals and wider partners.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Participate in duty systems and contribute to team development.
  • Promote inclusive, anti‑discriminatory practice and uphold the Council’s values.
Candidate Requirements Essential
  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, BA, MA or equivalent).
  • Social Work England registration (or due within 5 months).
  • Strong applied knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Experience completing assessments, support plans and case management.
  • Ability to manage fluctuating caseloads and work to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work within professional and ethical standards, including CPD requirements.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with adults, carers, advocates and partner agencies.
  • Skilled in risk management, critical reflection and evidence‑based decision‑making.
Desirable
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Knowledge of assessment frameworks and planning tools.
  • Experience using Liquid Logic and agile working tools.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel as required.
