RoleSummary
We are seeking two multi-skilled joiner/carpeters in Swindon and surrounding areas to deliver high-quality repair and maintenance services that support our mission of providing safe and affordable homes.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high standards of joinery work and carry out secondary trade activities (plastering, basic plumbing, etc.) to meet first‑time fix KPIs.
- Provide outstanding customer service and support operational performance targets.
- Accurately record and report operational activities following company and legislative procedures.
- Assess risks before work and follow strict health and safety measures.
- Maintain the condition and appearance of the company vehicle and keep accurate van stock records.
- Ensure all tools, equipment and plant machinery are maintained, certificated, and defects reported promptly.
- Follow safeguarding procedures carefully, identifying and reporting any concerns related to customer safety.
- Comply with legislation, company policies and procedures; report near‑misses and RIDDOR accidents accurately.
- Meet or exceed KPIs for first‑time fix repairs and achieve key performance and productivity goals.
- Improve customer satisfaction through reliable and professional service delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners to resolve operational challenges.
- Complete works within budget and business requirements.
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 (City & Guilds) in Joinery or Carpentry and have at least 2 years’ experience in this trade.
- Hold competence in an additional trade.
- Strong communication skills and ability to demonstrate competency within joinery/carpetry trade.
- Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time‑management skills.
- Capability to make decisions, solve problems and seek advice when required.
- Physically able to carry out tasks and lift weights in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Desirable:
Experience of working within the social housing sector.
Hours – Full‑time:
Mon–Thurs 08:00‑16:30 / Fri 08:00‑15:30
Salary – £36,838 per annum. Out‑of‑hours rota: £525 per week on call (1 in
4).
Location – Mobile within Swindon and surrounding area. Ideal candidate must live within 20 miles of Swindon.
