Overview

The Maintenance department is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join their busy team. We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual who can prioritise workloads and identify potential improvements to operational systems and management processes to increase departmental efficiencies.

The role involves working Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:00. You will also be required to participate in the emergency on-call rota within the estates department, across all operational sites.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and technical expertise as part of a multitasking maintenance team, with a focus on service delivery.
  • Carry out or oversee the repair, maintenance or installation of complex plant and equipment associated with premises administered by the Trust's Estates department.
  • Maintain and repair a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and Medical Plant & Equipment and Building faults.
  • Deputise for Team Leaders as required.
  • Contact approved contractors for maintenance breakdowns and repairs when required.
  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance of essential systems across the Trust estate.
  • Analyse faults and undertake rectifications to ensure continuity of service.
  • Maintain professional appearance in line with the Trust dress code and uphold the Trust’s values, treating colleagues with respect and supporting equality and diversity in the workplace.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals; understanding of electrical installation plans and drawings.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and identify potential improvements to operational systems and management processes.
  • Willingness to work on a on-call rota across all sites as required.
