DetailedJob Description and Main Responsibilities
You will carry out day‑to‑day electrical repairs under the supervision of the electrical team through planned maintenance and improvements to the Trust’s buildings, ensuring conformity with statutory regulations and codes of practice. You will also be responsible for installation of electrical new work and small projects, and you may be called upon for other tasks as directed by management. Participation in the emergency on‑call service and cross‑site working are required.
You are expected to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and installation plans, and work efficiently in the Labour Management System. You will maintain a high standard of performance and attend courses and on‑call training as required.
- Experience in building services maintenance with a demonstrable track record of competence.
- Essential:
National Qualification Framework level 3 or above (e.g., BTEC, OND, Eng Tech or equivalent). - Desirable:
Qualification in building services; knowledge of Legionella/water systems; asbestos awareness.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Knowledge and appreciation of building maintenance issues.
- Understanding of NHS and working in clinical areas.
- Knowledge of estates maintenance.
- Planning skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to plan own workload, be flexible and prioritise tasks.
- Ability to develop and work effectively in a team.
- Self‑motivation.
- Ability to work under pressure.
