Research Coordinator – University of Liverpool
A Research Coordinator position is available in the group of Professor Andrew Cooper at the University of Liverpool.
The Research Coordinator will bring expertise to strengthen the relevant areas of our research programme, particularly by providing specialist advice and leadership in crystallography. This will include managing the teams working on the development of new automated methods for the discovery of crystalline materials using powder and single crystal X‑ray diffractometers.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the chemistry and crystallography aspects of our research (predominantly in the area of crystalline materials).
- Ensure integration with other research areas in the Cooper Group (i.e., robotic automation and machine‑learning).
- Manage resources, infrastructure (hardware and software) and personnel (recruitment, supervision and health and safety) associated with this research area.
Required qualifications:
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Materials Science.
- Skills in crystallography, including experience solving and reporting problematic crystal structures.
- Ability to lead a team of researchers working on projects in this area.
