Data Scientist, Research Assistant/Associate
Applications are invited for a 0.8
FTE post of Research and Evaluation Assistant working for the Centre for Academic Innovation and Development (CAID). You will be collecting qualitative data, analysing big quantitative data sets and reporting outcomes from both relating to student experience and outcomes in response to our university-wide curriculum changes.
You will be able to provide evidence of undertaking research tasks such as developing and using data collection tools and methods, drafting ethical approval forms, and analysing and reporting data. You will be confident handling qualitative and quantitative data. In this role you will be required to write reports and publish work based on work with large and/or complex data sets.
You will need to have knowledge and understanding of theory of change evaluation techniques or be willing to learn about them. You may have experience or knowledge of how AI can be responsibly, ethically and transparently used to support research tasks.
The role holder is line managed by the Dean of Academic Innovation or nominee and will work closely with colleagues in the Academic Practice Team of CAID as well as with data managers in Planning, the Registry and the Access and Participation Teams.
