We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join our team as Clinical Research Nurses.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the assessment and management of care pathways for research participants
  • Supporting the informed consent process in line with study protocols
  • Providing guidance and support to research participants and responding to queries
  • Managing study‑related data and contributing to the day‑to‑day running of research studies
  • Promoting research activity within the department and fostering collaborative working across teams
  • Developing a personal research portfolio through training, courses, and practical experience
Required Qualifications
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and/or Royal College of Nursing (RGN)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and flexibly
  • A proactive approach to patient recruitment and meeting study targets
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy environment
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • 1st level degree or progressing towards one
  • Research qualifications and demonstrable experience of patient education and counselling
  • Clinical experience with venepuncture and IV cannulation
  • Supervision of student nurses
  • Previous experience of coordinating clinical research studies
  • Experience of liaising with staff at all levels in healthcare
  • Previous experience within a research speciality
  • Appraisal and interviewing skills, knowledge of the principles and practice of clinical research and/or clinical trials
  • Understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Clinical Research Nurse
  • Knowledge of ethical and quality standards applicable to clinical trials, including EU Directive on ICH GCP requirements
  • Knowledge of the Health Service, R&D, pharmaceutical industry partnership and relevant information sciences
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office / EDCL
  • Skills in administration and project management
  • Good communication, presentational, training and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a highly demanding environment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload while communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in handling and managing computerised data
  • Capability to evaluate and assist in developing new protocols
  • Analytical and interpretative data skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy
  • Flexible approach to working hours
