Research Scientist
The ‘Clean Energy and Power Research Group’ is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic researcher to carry out a critical part of the innovative research in the field of Digital Energy Systems. The project is sponsored by UKRI with the aim to conduct modelling, analysis and optimisation of smart power distribution grids and integrated power and transportation networks. In collaboration with our industrial and UK university partners, a novel research programme will be implemented based on modelling, control and optimisation of an integrated power and transportation networks.
Keyresponsibilities and duties include:
- Designing research framework and methodology and performing operational and functional testing of the experimental system to a high standard.
- Building positive relationships with the partners and within the team and translating the partners’ requirements into the research programme at Liverpool.
- Contributing to work developing state-of-the-art energy system modelling methods.
- Being proactive in developing own leadership skills and contributing towards MSc/PhD student supervision in the research group.
You should have a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Energy Systems. The post is available as soon as possible no later than 1 April 2026 for up to one year.
If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
