Job Description
Are you a Seafood Expert, and want to positively influence the overall health, safety, and conservation seafood products and processes through certification assessments?
We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Seafood Auditors to conduct audits for MSC Chain of Custody (Default, Groups, and CFO), and CFI Unified Chain of Custody standards. These roles are critical in maintaining the integrity of our certification services, ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards, and delivering high-quality audit outcomes to clients in the seafood supply chain.
Responsibilities- Plan, conduct, and lead Chain of Custody audits in accordance with the MSC, CSI, Marin Trust, and other relevant standards.
- Evaluate client systems and operations for compliance with scheme requirements and identify areas of improvement.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive audit reports, non-conformity reports, and follow-up documentation.
- Ensure audits are completed in a timely, efficient, and impartial manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable scheme requirements and updates.
- Support internal training and calibration sessions to ensure consistency in audit practices.
- Participate in witness audits and peer reviews as required by accreditation bodies.
- Maintain certification body and scheme-specific qualification and calibration requirements.
- A degree in Science, Food, Business, Economics or Technical Program.
- Lead auditor (ISO 19011 or equivalent)
- HACCP qualification
- Good written and verbal communication in English. Additional language(s) would be a distinct advantage.
- Proven auditing experience (minimum 3 years) in Chain of Custody or related food supply chain certification schemes.
- Desirable:
Fully qualified auditor or in advanced qualification stage for MSC Chain of Custody, CSI Unified Chain of Custody, or Marin Trust Factory and CoC. - In-depth understanding of seafood processing, trading, and logistics operations.
- Strong report writing and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage audit schedules effectively.
- Willingness to travel (domestic and international), as required.
- Experience with remote auditing platforms and digital tools.
- Additional certifications in food safety, traceability, or sustainability schemes (e.g., ASC, BRCGS, FSSC 22000) are a plus.
- Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
