Are you an experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse who would like to join Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and make a difference to patient care every day? A very exciting opportunity to join a busy, fast‑paced environment on the Theatre Admissions Unit in the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The Unit takes the majority of patients admitted for surgery and procedures, admitting them peri‑operatively and post‑operatively recovering and discharging day‑case patients.
We cover a range of specialities, including Urology, Colorectal, Breast, Ophthalmology, Interventional Radiology, and General Surgery. For this role you will preferably have a strong surgical background, excellent communication skills, a positive and professional manner, and a drive and commitment to give it your best for every patient.
Main duties of the job:
- Responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.
- Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team and undertake delegated tasks from the ward sister/charge nurse.
- Take charge of ward/department for a span of duty after successful completion of foundation gateway.
- Always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.
- Registered Nurse, current NMC registration.
- BSc in Nursing (Diploma in Nursing as a minimum).
- Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor Training.
- Post‑registration qualification in relevant specialty.
– Essential Criteria
- Recent clinical nursing experience as a student or a registered nurse.
- Experience with in relevant clinical setting.
- Evidence of maintaining a clinical learning environment.
- Evidence of working with learners.
- Sound clinical nursing knowledge and a good understanding of nursing issues and clinical governance.
- Demonstrates awareness of own limitations.

- Ability to organise workload and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to support less experienced staff.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic IT skills, including e‑mail and word processing.
