Employer Bio

Merseyside Play Action Council (MPAC) is a well-established charity supporting play, youth and community organisations across Liverpool. They provide training, capacity-building support, resources and grant-making, including the administration of contracts such as the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.

Job Summary

They are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to develop a career in grant-making, community development, fundraising and organisational support. Previous fundraising or grant-making experience is not required; we are looking for someone with potential, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

As the HAF Development and Sustainability Officer, you will work closely with the Development and Sustainability Manager to support MPAC’s administration of grant programmes, particularly the HAF programme. You will also help strengthen the capacity and sustainability of youth and play organisations across Liverpool by supporting their income generation activities, such as identifying funding opportunities, supporting bid writing and carrying out bid reviews.

You will receive structured training and hands-on experience in areas including:

  • Assisting with MPAC’s grant-making responsibilities
  • Identifying grant and fundraising opportunities
  • Supporting organisations to prepare funding applications
  • Providing basic fundraising advice
  • Helping to develop training, resources and sector support tools

This is an excellent early-career opportunity for someone looking to grow within the VCFSE sector.
