Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Staff Full Stack Engineer

At Sentric, we’re on a mission to provide artists with the fairest deal in the music industry. Our core values of Honesty, Originality, Progression, and Kindness aren’t just words on a wall – they guide how we work, how we treat each other, and how we build technology that makes a real difference.

We’re looking for a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join our Product Engineering team at our newly fitted head office in the centre of Liverpool. This is our most senior individual contributor role – a technical leadership position that shapes how we build, scale, and evolve the systems behind Sentric Music and Believe Publishing.

About the Role

As a Staff Full Stack Engineer, you’ll own the technical direction across our full stack – from backend services and cloud-scale databases through to user-facing applications. Working alongside our existing Staff and Front End Engineers focused on backend/data and infrastructure, you’ll complete a senior technical leadership team that covers the full breadth of our engineering discipline.

This isn’t a purely hands‑off role. You’ll lead by example – writing code, designing architectures, and mentoring engineers – while also operating at a strategic level, aligning technical decisions with business objectives and guiding investment in product development technology. You’ll work across Product, Engineering, and Innovation functions, engaging stakeholders at all levels to ensure we’re building the right things the right way.

What

You’ll Do Technical Leadership & Strategy
  • Shape and own the full stack technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with product and commercial goals.
  • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and guidance across the engineering team – raising the bar on delivery efficiency, developer experience, and engineering culture.
  • Lead the design of scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures—balancing delivery speed, operational cost, and quality.
  • Support the design and evolution of cloud-scale data architectures, ensuring our application databases – including Elastic – are supported by scalable application architecture to perform reliably under growing demand.
  • Drive the architectural design of a federated authentication subsystem and RBAC solution, enabling secure, scalable identity and permissions management across our platform and its integrations.
  • Act as a technical consultant to business stakeholders, translating complex requirements into pragmatic solutions.
Delivery Efficiency, Observability, Monitoring & Alerting
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery efficiency – identifying and removing bottlenecks in how we build, test, and ship software.
  • Champion observability, monitoring, and alerting as first‑class engineering disciplines – ensuring our systems are instrumented with meaningful metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and actionable alerts.
  • Use operational data to inform decision‑making – proactively identifying performance degradation, capacity constraints, and reliability risks before they impact users.
Hands‑On Delivery
  • Build robust, secure APIs and integrate with third‑party services and platforms.
  • Lead with upfront technical design, tracer implementations, workshops, and code reviews to ensure engineering efforts succeed.
Security, Compliance & Quality
  • Enforce security best practices and compliance with relevant regulations (including GDPR) throughout the software development lifecycle. Conduct security audits and threat modelling, proactively mitigating risk.
  • Uphold uncompromising quality standards, optimising for application performance and resilience.
Research, Innovation & Incident Response
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential for adoption. Maintain a view of the commercial landscape – aligning innovation to maximise differentiators and identify opportunities for disruption.
  • Lead by example in resolving complex technical issues and coordinating urgent incidents, leveraging observability and monitoring tooling to accelerate root cause analysis and resolution.
Qualifications Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to work on‑site at the Liverpool office (hybrid role).
